Andrew Bennett ‘Lord of the Vampires’
As a nobleman in Queen Elizabeth’s court, Andrew Bennett was respected for his charm and determination. However, his life changed forever when he was bitten by the ancient vampire Cain and left for dead. He arose as one of the undead, consumed by the weight of his newfound existence. Determined to avoid taking human lives, he made a vow never to do so, but broke it for his lover, Mary Seward. Heartbroken by her seduction by the power of vampirism, Bennett pursued her for centuries as she led a cult, the Blood Red Moon. Despite the challenges he faced in stopping her, Bennett remains an experienced vampire, aware of his powers and limitations. He also has a reputation as a member of Justice League Dark, with the title of “Lord of the Vampires” for his efforts to keep vampire numbers in check.
Emily “Lia” Briss was once a noble hero, fighting alongside Batman and the Outsiders to combat crime and various dangers. However, her fate took a drastic turn when, while trying to eliminate a vampire outbreak in Markovia, she was bitten by the leader of the horde, Roderick. This turned her into a vampire, known as a “daywalker” and Roderick’s consort. As a result, she found herself in conflict with her former teammates, until a reminder of her husband helped her break free from Roderick’s control. Possessing the typical vampire abilities, Lia also has extraordinary powers, such as telepathy, telekinesis, the ability to fly and project energy. She harnesses these talents to aid groups like Batman and the Outsiders in their fight against evil.
Cain, who was cursed by God, is considered the progenitor of all vampires. He created an army of the cursed creatures with the goal of subjugating humanity. In order to stop him, a European mathematician and scientist named Al-Jabar gathered a group of warriors, the Demon Knights, including Horsewoman, Exoristos, and Sir Justin. With their combined efforts, they were able to defeat Cain and save humanity, at least for the time being. It was Cain who turned Andrew Bennett, mistaking his devotion to Mary as mere lust. However, Bennett’s innocence allowed him to control his bloodlust. As the original source of all vampires, Cain possess all the powers of his offspring, but with increased strength. Starbreaker has a history of conflicts with the Justice League, dating back to the 1970s. He attempted to invade the planet Rann using giant, mechanical ants and instigating the Rann-Thanagar war. Mary ‘Queen Of Blood’
Mary Seward was once the fiancée of Lord Andrew Bennett, but she has since been transformed into Mary, Queen of Blood, the leader of the Blood Red Moon cult and Bennett’s sworn enemy. It was at her own request that she was turned into a vampire by her lover Andrew. However, her weakness led her to give in to the bloodlust and desire for power. While Andrew Bennett sees the value in human life, she sees that as a weakness in him. In her eyes, humans are mere resources to be consumed and used for her army, or discarded. She possesses many of the typical vampire powers such as super strength, the ability to transform into a bat, mist or wolf, but with a twist that sunlight can weaken her but not destroy her.
Over the years, there have been several conflicting accounts of the first vampire on Earth and their origins. One version is that the former angel known as Carnivore became the first vampire after falling from Heaven. He took Linda Danvers/Matrix version of Supergirl as a captive in a battle for the control of Heaven. Carnivore managed to seize the feminine aspect of God, which also gave him control over her Earth-bound angels like Supergirl. He even blackmailed the all-powerful cosmic being known as The Presence, and temporarily took over Heaven, before ultimately being defeated.
Nocturna is a dangerous individual, a thief, hypnotist and vampire, all rolled into one. Being immortal and sensitive to light, she uses her abilities to steal and to control the minds of others, often using hypnosis to force them into ‘romantic’ relationships. She successfully manipulated Kate Kane, better known as Batwoman, by discovering her secret identity and biting her. As a result, Kate broke up with her girlfriend and started a relationship with Nocturna. However, Kate’s sister eventually realized what was happening and freed her from Nocturna’s influence. Though a formidable vampire, Nocturna’s true strengths lie in her skills as a thief and her powerful hypnosis abilities.

Dax Novu made his first appearance in the Final Crisis run in DC Comics, as a creation of the original Monitor. He was corrupted at an early stage of his existence, resulting in his vampiric appearance and powers. His goal is to plunge the known DC universe into eternal darkness, and rule over a plane of existence called the Overvoid, all on his own. Dax Novu sustains himself by feeding on the “Bleed”, an inter-dimensional space between realities that is composed of pure cosmic force. In his most recent scheme, he was opposed by some of the most powerful heroes of the DC universe, succeeding in defeating the Spectre and Radiant, the embodiment of Mercy and Vengeance. It was only by the combined efforts of the current Monitor, his son, and multiple versions of Superman from the multiverse that he was ultimately sent back to the void.
Without a doubt, Dracula is the most powerful evil vampire in all of DC Comics. He has made appearances in various storylines and universes. Time and time again, Dracula has risen from his slumber with the intention of taking over the world, destroying it, or enslaving humanity and becoming their dark ruler. He has clashed with some of DC’s strongest heroes, including Superman, Batman, and the Justice League, who, at best, could only temporarily defeat him and prepare for his inevitable return. Amongst all vampires, Dracula stands out as a true immortal, invulnerable to sunlight or traditional vampire weaknesses such as a stake through the heart.
