Productivity is a way to measure efficiency. It is a way to feel motivated and inspired about your life and occupation. But, you cannot have a productive day daily, it is impossible. In today’s world where machines and capitalism is dominating, being perfect and feeling worthy is everyone’s goal. The only way to feel worthy is by not expecting too much out of you and from anyone. Being perfect does not mean that you have to be better than everyone; you can be perfect for yourself. You can feel proud of the little things you achieve every day. In this article, we are going to read about how to be more productive in every aspect of life?
The best thing that I have learned, applied, and recommended is making plans the day before. But, it often happens that you add a lot of things to the list and at the end, you check three-four boxes. So, the best way to get rid of this is to make a list of the most important things that you need to complete. And, yes, always check out the task after it is done, it will make you feel more proud of yourself and it will motivate you to check out another task.
Productivity is also a lot like building trust, both do not happen in a day. It can take two weeks or probably several months to build a habit. So, the most important part of being productive is to stick to doing certain things every day. Things such as reading books, say 30 pages every day at a certain time, exercising, doing yoga or going for a walk, meditation, and more. These are some small things that take less time but once you do them, you will feel productive. Although these should not be the most important task of your day, you must add them to your list in case you want to build the habits.
If you are someone like me, you need to use a timer or a more effective would be the Pomodoro technique. The Pomodoro technique or a timer is really helpful for people whose attention span does not last for a long time. If you want to get your things done, you need to pay attention to what you are doing. Pomodoro clock is a 25 minutes timer alarm, it will help you to stay productive for 25 minutes, and then perhaps you can take a break for say 10-15 minutes and start again. Another application that I find helpful is Forest, you can set the clock to two hours maximum. And once, the time is complete you will see that you have planted a tree in your forest. Well, if you register you can help plant real trees as well.
Another thing that helps me the most and I do this since I do not feel productive every day – Instead of making a daily list, I create a list of tasks for a week and I try to follow them. Such as two books that I need to complete by this week, a few pending PDFs, two days of tuition classes, meeting someone, and more. This might not be helpful for all, but it helps me to feel that I have a few things to be done. And, some of us just work better under pressure.
But the main point of all this productivity is to feel good about trying and better about increasing your daily tasks, say this month you stick with reading 30 pages every day and once you get the habit you can stretch it to 50 pages or more. So, just because we are all in search of perfection, that does not mean we are worthless. It takes time to build habits and every day cannot be a productive day, but we can always keep trying and be proud of that.
