Clash of Clans and Clash Royale, two of the most iconic mobile games from Supercell, are being adapted into an animated series by Netflix. This marks a major leap for the franchise, which has already built a global fanbase of billions over the past decade.
A Barbarian-Led Adventure with Comedic Chaos
The upcoming series will center around a determined but overconfident Barbarian who must lead a ragtag group of misfits to protect their village. Along the way, he’ll navigate the ridiculous and often hilarious politics of war in the whimsical world of Clash. The story promises a blend of epic battles, absurd humor, and the unmistakable charm that players have come to love from the games.
Industry Veterans Steering the Project
The series is currently in pre-production and boasts an impressive creative team. Fletcher Moules, known for his work on Entergalactic and Agent Elvis, is on board as the showrunner. Moules is no stranger to the Clash universe, having directed several of the franchise’s animated shorts.
Joining him is Ron Weiner, an executive producer and writer best known for his contributions to Silicon Valley, 30 Rock, Futurama, and Arrested Development. The animation will be handled by Vancouver-based ICON Creative Studio, ensuring top-tier visuals.
Netflix and Supercell: A Strategic Partnership
John Derderian, Vice President of Animation Series at Netflix, expressed enthusiasm for the project, stating, “Clash has been a global gaming phenomenon for over a decade — filled with humor, action, and unforgettable characters perfect for an animated series adaptation.”
Curtis Lelash, head of film and TV at Supercell, echoed the excitement, saying, “Think epic battles, immaculate Barbarian mustaches, and the kind of humor our players know and love. They’ve been asking for a Clash series forever, and we’re beyond excited to finally say: It’s happening!”

A Legacy of Gaming and Animation Excellence
Supercell, the Helsinki-based game developer behind the Clash franchise, has seen enormous success since launching Clash of Clans and Clash Royale in 2012. Combined, the games have amassed over four billion downloads and racked up an astounding 180 billion hours of gameplay.
This new adaptation comes as Netflix continues to expand its portfolio of successful animated and game-based series. With hits like Arcane: A League of Legends Story, Castlevania, Blue Eye Samurai, and the upcoming Stranger Things: Tales from ’85, the streaming giant is cementing its place as a leader in the world of animated adaptations.
Not Part of Netflix Games—Yet
Despite Netflix’s growing selection of mobile games available via its app, Clash of Clans is not currently included in its gaming library. However, this new collaboration with Supercell may hint at future integration possibilities.
What Fans Can Expect
While no release date has been announced yet, fans can expect the series to retain the signature humor, personality, and over-the-top action that made the Clash games so beloved. With a talented team and a rich universe to explore, Netflix’s Clash of Clans animated series promises to be a must-watch.
