The Power Couple by Alex Berenson is an action packed page turner following an FBI agent and her husband. Daughter of an NSA hacker was kidnapped during a holiday in Europe. Rebecca and Brian Unsworth have a good job, decent life, good children however underneath the surface there are trouble brewing. The couple decided to celebrate their twentieth anniversary by going with their two children to Europe.

Their daughter “Kira” is 19 years old, and she has a date in Barcelona with a person she met in Paris. Over an exceptionally long weekend, the Unsworths are doing all that they can, utilizing their own brains and all accessible assets to discover their daughter. I have read a few Books of Mr. Berenson earlier, and liked them all without a doubt. I was happy to see another novel by him, and have the chance to read it.

The Power Couple begins with the family in Europe and the mechanization that went into the kidnapping of 19-year-old Kira Unsworth. That part of the book, for me, was terrifying. While reading, you will realize something bad is going to happen, but you cannot help it. It was like reading a horror novel you cannot put down; or a slow moving car crash where you realize you cannot remove your eyes from it.

The Power Couple by Alex Berenson represent the story in a fascinating way. As we know that Rebecca Unsworth works for the FBI, and her better half Brian works for the NSA. We likewise come to know a few points about their lives. The second and third parts of the book are told from Rebecca’s and Brian’s point of view, respectively. It says how they grew up, how they met, their job, and their dark secrets known to them and us, the readers.

The Power Couple follows characters that are unlikeable with little redeemable qualities, is hard to put down. I did not have a clue what to expect, however I was not disappointed. I felt the personality of Kira was too proactive and “operational” for a narcissist teenager, however that just added to the exciting twists of the novel. The last couple of chapters felt somewhat forced, as if the author felt he needed to tie up all the loose ends.

Recommended to those readers who are looking for action packed fast-paced Thriller novel.
