Hopps and Wilde Reunite—But Trouble Lurks in Paradise

Following their iconic case-solving debut in Zootopia (2016), rookie cops Judy Hopps (voiced by Ginnifer Goodwin) and Nick Wilde (voiced by Jason Bateman) are back on duty. But their teamwork is put to the test when Chief Bogo (voiced by Idris Elba) enrolls them in the Partners in Crisis counseling program—a move suggesting their once-solid bond might be cracking.

The duo’s shaky partnership faces even more pressure when they’re assigned a critical mission involving a venomous snake, sparking a historic case with city-wide implications. In the trailer, Wilde states ominously, “No snake has set foot in Zootopia in forever,” hinting at the scale of the threat ahead.

A Threat That Could Split the Team for Good

The stakes are higher than ever. Chief Bogo gives Hopps and Wilde what he calls a “make or break” assignment—and failure could mean the end of their partnership. As the tension builds, the case leads them through twisting trails, unexpected dangers, and emotional growth that could either pull them apart or make their bond stronger than ever.

New Characters Join the Zootopia Universe

This sequel doesn’t just bring back familiar faces—it also welcomes new characters that promise to shake things up in wildly entertaining ways. Among the newcomers:

  • Quinta Brunson (from Abbott Elementary) voices Dr. Fuzzby, a cheerful quokka therapist.
  • Ke Huy Quan lends his voice to Gary De’Snake, a mysterious new reptilian character central to the case.
  • Fortune Feimster joins the cast as Nibbles, whose role in the adventure remains tightly under wraps.

These new additions expand the world of Zootopia in exciting ways and are expected to bring fresh humor, heart, and intrigue to the story.

The Team Behind the Magic

Zootopia 2 is directed and written by Jared Bush, who also serves as the Chief Creative Officer of Walt Disney Animation Studios. Bush reunites with Byron Howard (co-director) and Yvett Merino (producer), continuing the collaborative spirit that helped the original Zootopia win an Academy Award®.

Speaking about the project, Bush shared, “It’s been an absolute joy to reteam with so many actors who made the first film so special, and so exciting to expand the world with our phenomenal new cast members. I can’t wait for audiences to see what other surprises we have in store in this brand-new adventure.”

Mark Your Calendars

As anticipation builds, fans won’t have to wait long—Zootopia 2 roars into theaters on November 26, 2025.
