With Solo Leveling Season 2 wrapping up, fans are eagerly anticipating the next chapter of Jinwoo’s journey. Although an official confirmation is yet to be announced, the massive success of the anime makes Season 3 almost inevitable. The first two seasons premiered almost exactly one year apart, with Season 1 debuting in January 2024 and Season 2 following in January 2025. However, Solo Leveling Season 3 may take longer to arrive due to production challenges.
Why the Delay for Season 3?
Unlike the first two seasons, which were developed simultaneously as part of a 25-episode project split into two parts, Season 3 will require fresh production efforts. A-1 Pictures, the studio behind Solo Leveling, is currently occupied with other projects, including Fate/Strange Fake and Aldnoah.Zero (Re+). This could affect the timeline for the anime’s continuation. While A-1 Pictures is likely to continue handling the series, there is always a possibility that another studio could take over, as has happened with other anime franchises in the past.
Potential Release Window
Speculation suggests that Solo Leveling Season 3 could premiere in early 2026, possibly January, following the one-year gap pattern of previous seasons. However, there is also the possibility that the franchise might take a different approach and release a feature-length film first before continuing the anime, similar to how some popular series have handled major story arcs.
What Will Season 3 Cover?
Season 3 is expected to pick up after the Red Gate incident and dive into the Ahjin Guild Arc. Fans can look forward to intense battles, powerful new allies, and a deeper exploration of the Mystery surrounding the gates and Jinwoo’s father. Based on the progression of the manhwa, the next season might also include the International Guild Conference Arc, bringing even greater stakes to Jinwoo’s journey.
Season 2 Finale Details
The final episode of Season 2, titled On to the Next Target, is set to release on March 30, 2025, at 5:30 PM (UK time) on Crunchyroll. Initially rumored to air as a double bill with Episode 12, that claim was later debunked. The episode is directed, written, and storyboarded by Shunsuke Nakashige, promising a strong conclusion to the season.
What’s Next for Solo Leveling?
Given the anime’s immense popularity, multiple seasons or even a final movie adaptation seem highly likely. An official announcement regarding Season 3 could arrive alongside the Season 2 finale. A teaser trailer might be revealed by mid-to-late 2025, providing a glimpse of what’s to come.
Until official confirmation arrives, fans can stay tuned for more updates from the creators and continue reliving Jinwoo’s epic rise through rewatching the series or diving into the original manhwa and novel.
