The beast was eventually trapped under the Alaskan ice and remained there until modern times. A special team composed of SHIELD veterans Dum Dum Dugan and Jimmy Woo was assembled to deal with the creature.
After Godzilla rampaged along the Pacific Coast, battling both the Champions and SHIELD’s Godzilla Squad, the monster set out on a journey across America. He clashed with Red Ronin, a giant armor, several times, and the two were forced to join forces against an alien invasion. Though Red Ronin was destroyed, Godzilla managed to defeat the Betan race’s giant monsters alone. Later, Grogg was discovered by the Collector and placed in his private zoo, but was freed by the Mole Man and other monsters.
The monsters rampaged through New York City before being defeated and banished to the Negative Zone. Grogg somehow returned to Earth and was recruited by S.H.I.E.L.D. into the Howling Commandos, a squad that used supernatural means to combat supernatural threats. Grogg served as a living transport carrier for the Commandos on their missions.
