Amazon Prime Video officially confirmed at New York Comic Con that Invincible Season 4 will premiere in March 2026, alongside the release of its action-packed first trailer. The announcement comes on the heels of Season 3’s record-breaking success and the early renewal of the hit animated superhero series for a fifth season.
Recap of Season 3’s Explosive Finale
Season 3 of Invincible delivered some of the show’s most intense and emotional storylines yet. Mark Grayson, voiced by Steven Yeun, endured the devastating “Invincible War,” orchestrated by multiverse manipulator Angstrom Levy (Sterling K. Brown). Levy recruited countless alternate versions of Invincible to wage war against Earth, leading to massive destruction and tragic losses — including the death of Rex Splode (Jason Mantzoukas) and the severe injury of multiple heroes. Though Mark managed to save his world, Levy survived by teleporting to another universe, promising that the multiverse threat is far from over.
As the planet began to recover, a new enemy landed to test Invincible’s resolve. The vicious Viltrumite warrior Conquest, played by Jeffrey Dean Morgan, arrived to assess Mark’s progress in claiming Earth for the Viltrumite Empire. What followed was one of the series’ bloodiest confrontations since the first season. With help from his partner Atom Eve (Gillian Jacobs), Mark barely survived the encounter. Eve used her extraordinary powers to rebuild herself after a fatal wound and managed to bring Conquest down. The battle left Mark hardened, embracing a darker and more ruthless stance toward dealing with his enemies.
What Lies Ahead in Season 4
The trailer unveiled at New York Comic Con hinted at the aftermath of these battles while subtly teasing new conflicts on the horizon. Lee Pace (known for Guardians of the Galaxy and Foundation) joins the cast as Grand Regent Thragg — one of the most dangerous Viltrumites in the comics. Described by the showrunners as “determined to restore Viltrum to its former glory at any cost,” Thragg’s arrival marks the beginning of a terrifying new chapter for Mark and his allies.
Matthew Rhys, also confirmed to join the voice cast, will portray an undisclosed character, adding another layer of intrigue to the upcoming season. Several unresolved threads from the previous season are expected to play major roles — including the hidden Sequid army, Cecil Stedman’s secret imprisonment of Conquest, Battle Beast’s survival, and Damien Darkblood’s ominous summoning of a hellish creature possibly destined to cross paths with Invincible himself.

The Road to Season 4
Despite the long production gaps between earlier seasons, with Season 2’s mid-season break drawing fan frustration, Invincible Season 3 marked a bold return to form. Its blend of character-driven storytelling, brutal action, and faithfulness to Robert Kirkman’s original comic earned widespread critical acclaim. Prime Video has since invested heavily in expanding the Invincible universe, with additional projects like the Invincible VS fighting game and a tabletop role-playing game currently in development.
With Thragg’s entrance, new heroes and cosmic threats emerging, and Invincible’s moral compass shifting after recent losses, Season 4 is poised to explore darker territory both emotionally and thematically. Fans can expect another round of unforgettable storytelling when Invincible returns to Prime Video in March 2026.
