I stepped out of Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse feeling incredibly amazed and impressed. This latest animated adventure featuring Miles Morales is packed with exciting guest appearances, surprise cameos, and quick glimpses of different versions of Spider-Man from various realities. From beloved comic book heroes to iconic movie adaptations and even the most obscure references, this film is a friendly spider-filled extravaganza! The way we are introduced to this entire world of the Spider-Verse is brilliant.

India and Indian Spider-man ‘Pavitr Prabhakar’ Representation

Pavitr Prabhakar is a poor Indian boy who moves to Mumbattan (Imaginary name by combining  “Mumbai” and “Manhattan”) with his aunt and uncle to study. Pavitr encounters a yogi who grants him spider-like powers to fight against the emerging evil. Initially hesitant, Pavitr embraces his responsibility after his uncle is stabbed while trying to help a woman whom Pavitr had initially ignored. This incident teaches Pavitr the importance of using his powers for good. This character from India was pleasant to watch, along with the presentation of Mumbai traffic and billboard showing Zomato advertisement.

Visual Effects

The film blends traditional 2D animation with computer-generated 3D animation, resulting in a visually stunning and highly stylized aesthetic reminiscent of comic books and graffiti, which adds to its overall appeal. The film’s various universes were meticulously crafted to emulate the distinctive artistic styles of different creators. The residence of Gwen Stacy (Earth-65) was intentionally crafted to resemble the enchanting essence of impressionistic watercolor paintings.

Background Music

The soundtrack for “Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse” has been expertly produced by Metro Boomin and showcases the talent of various artists, including A$AP Rocky, James Blake, and Offset. I personally like the BGM (Background Music) of the movie. It made the chase of Miles Morales by all the Spideys from different universes look even more entertaining, along with other action sequences.

Family and its importance

The movie emphasizes the importance of family bonds by showing how they provide a sense of belonging, love, and guidance. They become a source of inspiration and motivation for Miles Morales, enabling him to overcome obstacles and fulfill his potential. The film also explores the themes of sacrifice, loss, and the impact they have on familial relationships.
