Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children, directed by Tim Burton, is an excellent choice if you’re seeking a non-traditional fantasy film with a hint of magic. Children and adults with magical talents who reside in a hidden location and go on monster hunts are the focus of the story.

However, the secret location is shielded from the outside realm by a temporal loop, which also keeps the inhabitants out. Jake Portman, portrayed by Asa Butterfield, the protagonist, learns to refine his abilities under Miss Peregrine, the demanding but kind-hearted administrator of the children’s home. Potterheads will adore the narrative since it captures Dumbledore’s devotion to his pupils and takes the audience on an incredible magical journey.

What if there was a store right across the street where you could purchase whatever magical objects you desired? The main idea of the famous, lighthearted magic-based film Mr. Magorium’s Wonder Emporium is that anything is possible. The center of the story is a magical toy store that is loaded with a variety of toys from the wizarding realm that has an antiquated appearance. Everything appears to be going according to plan until 243-year-old wizard Mr. Magorium, who also owns the toy store, chooses to leave one day.

He picks Molly Mahoney, a young pianist who is his protege, as his successor. Throughout her voyage, Molly encounters a number of funny incidents that help her develop self-confidence and come to terms with her position as the proprietor of the magical toy store. The possibility that Mr. Magorium’s Wonder Emporium is a stowaway shop from Diagon Alley is merely speculative.

The House with a Clock in Its Walls

In terms of the origin of the protagonist, the fantasy comedy The House with a Clock in Its Walls is very similar to Harry Potter. 10-year-old Lewis Barnavelt leaves his home in Michigan to live with his uncle Jonathan after his parents are assassinated in an automobile accident in 1955. The clock has been magically buried inside the house by a malicious warlock who was also the former owner. Jonathan, a covert warlock, and his witch buddy Florence are attempting to stop a world-ending situation by searching for the clock.

Young Lewis learns magic and helps his uncle battle the powers of the dark after learning the truth. While trying to attract his pals on Halloween, he unintentionally revives these forces. That Hogwarts had a stringent no-magic-outside-of-school rule is understandable.

Bedknobs and Broomsticks, a musical fantasy by nature, blends numerous components of well-known children’s stories with the challenges of World War I. Three children, Charlie, Carrie, and Paul, are rescued from London during the 1940 Blitz and brought to Pepperinge Eye, where Miss Eglantine Price reluctantly takes them in. Miss Price is secretly studying magic at a distance learning institution in order to aid British forces in the fight against the Nazis.

When the kids learn what she’s up to, they decide to go on an adventure with her that brings them to the fantastical country of Naboombu. Miss Pepperidge can be seen attempting to fly a broomstick in one shot. Perhaps she is trying to join a Quidditch team? This will appeal to classic film lovers who are also fans of Harry Potter.

Another fiction that borrows heavily from the stories of King Arthur, The Kid Who Would Be King recreates the famous conflict between the legendary wizard Merlin and the sorceress Morgana. As he worries Morgana may one day resurrect from the dead to jail and rule all of England, Merlin reverses his age in order to recruit Alex’s assistance in the battle. In addition to learning riddles about his background, Alex strives to do the proper thing during his adventure.

What if Voldemort had survived Deathly Hallows: Part 2 if Harry hadn’t managed to defeat him? If the troops of the Dark Lord had won control, what might have happened to the world? Abigail, a Russian feature film, provides some evidence in support of the theory. Abigail fights for survival while hiding her identity in a harsh post-apocalyptic setting where sinister forces have taken control and govern the globe.

Apart from their followers, all Magi, or people who wield magic, have been wiped out by the evil wizards, who now have absolute control over the Muggles. Because Abigail discovered her magical abilities, the evil government, which wants to eliminate all challenges to its unrestricted rule, has put a bounty on her head.

Upside-Down Magic

The Original Disney Movie Upside-Down Magic is indeed a lot of fun. It is a magic-based drama for kids that skillfully weaves the value of the good company with imagination. Two teenage best friends named Nory and Reina find out they have magical abilities in this story, which follows their journey. They enroll in the Sage Academy, a prominent wizarding institution equal to Hogwarts. They are then divided into classes according to their unique skill sets and set out on their paths to create their futures.

A spellbook that contains knowledge about a particular sort of black sorcery called Shadow Magic serves as the film’s major antagonist. The world of Harry Potter has a similar impact to a Horcrux. It will be intriguing to watch how the narrative develops, whether there are any sequels planned, and whether the plot has a You-Know-Who waiting for the viewers at the conclusion.

Teen Witch

A timeless teen fantasy film that addresses the risks of having unrestricted power once more. Robyn Lively’s character Louise Miller, a 15-year-old student, learns she is a strong witch’s reincarnation. She discovers an amulet that endows her with all of the witch’s magical abilities, and she employs them to realize her aspirations. She gains popularity at school, puts a love spell on the school’s hottest guy, and exacts humorous payback on individuals who have harmed her in the past.

When her popularity charm spins out of control and she ends up losing her best friend, she rapidly understands how dangerous her abilities are. By giving up her powers, Louise builds a fulfilling life for herself. Harry also discards the Elder Wand and his opportunity to become the most potent wizard in the universe when he defeats Voldemort in Deathly Hallows 2.

The Craft

The Craft shows you why it’s never a good idea to experiment with black magic for one’s benefit. Four misfit high school students who are mocked for being “witches” create their clans and carry out rituals that endow them with incredible abilities. They successfully employ these abilities for their benefit, but soon the desire to possess all of them overcomes them one after the other.

Thankfully, one of the group’s more experienced members, Sarah, portrayed by Robin Tunney, sees they’ve overstepped their bounds and puts a halt to her companions’ infamous antics once and for all. Over the years, The Craft developed a cult following, which eventually resulted in The Craft: Legacy, a tenuously related sequel, in 2020. An excellent illustration of why magicians should attend Hogwarts rather than an ordinary school can be found in the first movie.
