Fans are fascinated towards Superhero movies. In recent times superhero movies and franchises have been ruling the box office. These movies have been an easy pick and go to choice for the masses. The high demand is backed by even a higher supply. However, this has caused a saturation in this genre. Because of the constant pressure and demand, the quality and storyline of the superhero movies have gone down drastically. The year kickstarted with a gripping intense movie like the Batman but later half (of the year) hardly witnessed any such ventures on screen. Anyways let’s discuss the top 10 superhero movies of 2022. We still have some hopes left with the upcoming superhero movies like ‘Black Adam’. But here we’ll be talking about the movies that have already been released.

The Batman

The superhero action thriller was directed by Matt Reeves and had Robert Pattinson as Batman. There was great buzz about the movie from the time of its announcement and was mostly about Pattinson’s casting. Batman can be considered as the most likable and bankable character of DC. The Batman franchise has been one of the most iconic and successful superhero franchises of all time. People had doubts about Rob’s potential to play such an intense and dark character. However, the movie lived up to the hype and can easily be considered 2022’s best superhero movie.

DC League Of Super-Pets

The next on the list is DC’s Super Pets. This super fun animation movie was directed by Jared Stern in association with the co-director Sam J Levine. The movie revolves around the primary character ‘Krypto’ (Superman’s Super-Dog). The Super-Dog has all the powers like his master cum friend Superman. However, Krypto still has to master his powers. For the movie top stars like Dwayne Johnson and Keanu Reeves have given their voice for the animated characters. Where Dwayne Johnson has given the voice for Krypto, Kevin Hart for Ace, John Krasinski for Superman and Keanu Reeves for Batman’s character.

Doctor Strange In The Multiverse Of Madness

Sam Raimi’s Doctor Strange In The Multiverse Of Madness was a crucial movie for the Marvel Universe. As they were trying something new and creating a foundation for the upcoming ventures. Benedict as Doctor Strange was spot on as usual. But Elizabeth’s character of Wanda also grabbed people’s attention. The movie had polarizing views amongst the masses. Some considered it to be fresh and different. While others had an opinion that the movie was too experimental and below average.  

Marvel’s Thor : Love and Thunder

Marvel’s Thor : Love and Thunder had Chris Hemsworth as Thor and was directed by Taika Waititi. The movie had a lot of buzz and hype before its release. But the Thunder God’s movie failed to live up to the expectations. The movie’s storyline and screenplay failed to impress the audiences and was even disliked by Marvel fans. However, the movie was able to make more than 750 Million dollars at the box office and is termed as one of the biggest hits of 2022.

Sonic the Hedgehog 2

The next on the list is Jeff Fowler’s movie Sonic the Hedgehog 2. The movie is about the face off between the manic doctor (Robotnik) and Sonic. The event takes place when the doctor returns to Earth with his ally but finds Sonic and his new friend in his way. In the movie Ben Schwartz has given his voice for Sonic’s character and Jim Carrey plays the role of Dr. Robotnik. 

Secret Headquarters

This superhero movie is directed by Henry Joost and Ariel Schulman. The Movie has a cast of Walker Scobell who plays Charlie, Michael Pena as Argon and Owen Wilson as Jack. The story is about a school boy Charlie who discovers a superhero headquarters which is hidden underneath his home and after this a series of events take place. 

Teen Titans Go! & DC Super Hero Girls: Mayhem in the Multiverse

In this animated action adventure movie the Teen Titans and DC’s female superheroes unite to fight Lex Luthor and the gang of supervillains. This movie is directed by Matt Peters & Katie Rice and is written by Jase Rice. Where actors like Kimberly Brooks, Greg Cipes, Keith Ferguson and Will Friedel have given their voices for the characters. 

Lightyear

This 2022 action adventure movie is about the Space Ranger Buzz Lightyear’s journey, who is attempting to return home. In this journey Buzz comes across an army of ruthless robots, which are controlled by Zurg. Their motive is to steal Buzz Lightyear’s fuel source. The movie is directed by Angus MacLane and Chris Evans has given his voice for Buzz Lightyear in the animated movie.

Morbius

Next on the list is Daniel Espinosa’s Morbius. The movie has an impressive storyline where a biochemist named Michael Morbius tries to cure his rare blood disease but accidently gets infected by some kind of Vampirism. However, the movie failed to capitalize on its storyline and was a disappointing venture. In this movie Jared Leto plays the character of Doctor Michael Morbius.

Samaritan

The last on the list is Sylvester Stallone’s Samaritan. The movie is directed by Julius Avery and written by Bragi F Schut. The story is about a mysterious superhero who is believed to be dead. But a 13 year old boy suspects that his neighbour is that mysterious superhero who has been hiding for years. This movie was another disappointing superhero venture of 2022 and was even disliked by Sly’s die hard fans.
