All you need to know about the upcoming Marvel TV series and all subsequent Marvel ventures is provided below.
On the Disney+ side, viewers have been introduced to a variety of new heroes in the series that included yet another MCU event that changed the game. The MCU has no intention of losing steam, and a tonne of new Marvel projects are scheduled for release in 2023, 2024, and beyond. Here is all the information you require on all upcoming MCU TV Series.
Marvel Cinematic Universe TV Series in Phase 5 (2023 & 2024)
Secret Invasion – 2023
In the upcoming Disney Plus series Secret Invasion, starring Samuel L. Jackson as Nick Fury, the former director of SHIELD will face off against the Skrull invaders who can change their shape. In addition to Ben Mendelsohn’s Talos, who made his film debut in Captain Marvel, Cobie Smulders will reprise her role as Maria Hill. Both Emilia Clarke and Olivia Colman are newcomers, and both seem to be on the good side of things.
Contrast that with the Skrull played by Kingsley Ben-Adir, who made his screen debut in the Secret Invasion video that made its debut at San Diego Comic-Con and was also subsequently released at the D23 Expo. Given that Feige has characterized the series as “gritty,” it is safe to assume that Secret Invasion will be a conspiracy thriller on par with Captain America: The Winter Soldier.
Echo – 2023
Alaqua Cox, who made her acting debut in the Hawkeye series, reprises her role as the deaf Native American protagonist in Echo. We can be assured that Vincent D’onofrio’s Kingpin and Charlie Cox’s Daredevil will both appear in the series. In this Disney Plus series, the MCU battle of the century is taking place.
Kingpin appears to be missing an eye in the first trailer for the show, which confirms he survived the explosion in Hawkeye’s series finale. The trailer debuted at D23.
Loki Season 2 – 2023
Loki is back in a new batch of episodes coming to Disney Plus after destroying timelines in the very first season of his spin-off. For Loki season 2, Sophia Di Martino and Owen Wilson both return.
A few changes have been made behind the scenes, including the replacement of writer Michael Waldron with Eric Martin, another Rick and Morty alum, and the addition of Moon Knight directors Aaron Moorhead and Justin Benson to the crew. The first clip was shown during D23, hinting at a mysterious multiverse.
What If…? Season 2 – 2023
What If… season 2 will be released in early 2023 following the success of the first What If… series on Disney+. Season 2 of What If? was confirmed in December 2019, months before the first season’s first episode was shown. Jeffrey Wright will reprise his role as The Watcher, Uatu, in What If…? season 2 and continue to explore the other universes of the multiverse. The plot of one episode is already known because it was delayed from the 1st season and will feature in season 2, however the characters previously featured in the season 1 finale. The episode centers on Gamora and Iron Man beating Thanos.
Producers have stated that Captain Carter, played by Hayley Atwell, will return in season 2 and that she will probably revisit the post-credits scene from season 2 where the Hydra Stomper is once again found. The series’ creators have also stated their intention to frequently revisit Captain Carter. There will be nine episodes in What If…?’s 2nd season and some extra storylines reportedly include an episode set in Marvel’s historically accurate 1602 setting.
Ironheart – 2023
In Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, Riri Williams made her acting debut as Ironheart before debuting her own solo show on Disney Plus. At this early stage, not much is known about the show, but like in the comics, we can anticipate that Riri will have some connections to Iron Man. The main character is portrayed by Dominique Thorne, who also starred in If Beale Street Could Talk, and Judas and the Black Messiah.
The major antagonist, The Hood, who will be played by actor Anthony Ramos, was also unveiled while the first teaser trailer was being shown behind closed doors at the D23 expo. Unknown parts have also been cast for Harper Anthony, Alden Ehrenreich, Shakira Barrera, Shea Couleé, Lyric Ross, Manny Montana, Regan Aliyah, and Zoe Terakes.
Agatha: Coven of Chaos
Agatha Harkness, played by Kathryn Hahn, is back for her own spin-off after enchanting everyone with her prominent part in WandaVision. Elizabeth Olsen, who plays the Scarlet Witch, has stated she would “love” to be a part of the program, and Hahn has previously hinted that the idea is “just what I would have hoped and envisioned.”
The plot is unknown, but given Wanda’s significant part in the film, we anticipate it will wrap up some loose ends from WandaVision and possibly connect to Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness. Aubrey Plaza entering as a potential new antagonist is one of the recent entertaining casting announcements.
Spider-Man Freshman Year – 2024
The animated television series Spider-Man: Freshman Year is scheduled to premiere in 2024. A backstory to Tom Holland’s Spider-Man introduction in the MCU is planned for Freshman Year. Peter Parker’s origin story was infamously omitted by Marvel from the MCU, but this series promises to go back and examine how he turned into a superhero and finally was hired by Iron Man.
This indicates that the happenings of Captain America: Civil War predate those of the television series. Jeff Trammel, a writer, will serve as the show’s director. Whether Tom Holland will serve as Spider-Man’s voice at this moment is unknown. However, one casting decision is known: Charlie Cox will play Daredevil in another MCU cameo.
Marvel Zombies – 2024
Marvel Zombies’ 2024 launch date has been announced following the show’s successful adaption of the episode, “What If… Zombies!,” in What If…?, episode 5. On Disney+, there was a huge demand for more Marvel Zombies. Marvel responded to these cries by announcing the 2021 release of the spin-off Marvel Zombies Disney+ series. Marvel Zombies will be helmed by Bryan Andrews, with Zeb Wells penning the script.
Marvel Zombies is a television program that centers on “a new generation of heroes fighting against an ever-spreading zombie epidemic,” according to the company’s official description. The 1st Marvel Zombies Disney+ show is rumored to star the majority of the original MCU stars and takes place in the same reality as the What If…? episode.
Daredevil: Born Again – 2024
Daredevil by Charlie Cox is widely popular. After making a comeback in Spider-Man: No Way Home and then later making appearances in Echo and She-Hulk, Daredevil is now receiving his own series, aptly titled Born Again. Given that The Defenders Saga’s live-action version of the comic book tale “Born Again” already exists, it’s more probable that the name is just a catchy way to announce Cox’s return to the role.
Although there are few plot specifics available, viewers do know that Vincent D’onofrio’s Kingpin will be back and that there will be 18 episodes in the series. The will be the current longest Disney Plus series. That much Daredevil material is a lot. Cox himself made the announcement that the series would start shooting in 2023 at the D23 Expo.
