Limp Bizkit bassist and founding member Sam Rivers has passed away at the age of 48, the band confirmed through a heartfelt post on social media. In their tribute, the band members described Rivers as more than just a bassist—he was “pure magic, the pulse beneath every song, the calm in the chaos, the soul in the sound.” They recalled how his effortless talent and immense heart defined their music and spirit, noting that his light and rhythm could never be replaced. DJ Lethal, who performs alongside Rivers’ longtime bandmates Fred Durst, John Otto, and Wes Borland, added an emotional message in the comments, asking fans to respect the privacy of Rivers’ family. Rivers co-founded Limp Bizkit after befriending Durst while the two were working retail jobs, eventually forming the nu-metal powerhouse in 1994.
