Netflix is set to enhance its impressive array of games by adding “Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy – The Definitive Edition,” just in time for those holiday moments when you need a quick escape from family gatherings.

For brevity, let’s refer to it as the GTA Trilogy. This collection includes remastered versions of GTA III, GTA: Vice City, and GTA: San Andreas. Starting today, gamers can pre-register for these titles on iOS and Google Play. They’ll be accessible through the Netflix mobile app and also available to Netflix subscribers on the App Store and Google Play.

Netflix is continuously expanding its selection with major titles. Its portfolio already includes hits like Kentucky Route Zero, Before Your Eyes, both Oxenfree games, Immortality, Spiritfarer, and Dead Cells. The lineup will grow next year with additions like Katana Zero, Death’s Door, and Hades. Although not the largest library, it’s certainly a thoughtfully selected one, offering many games exclusively on mobile for Netflix subscribers.

Despite reports that a significant portion of Netflix users aren’t engaging with its gaming content, Netflix hasn’t shared any data regarding the popularity of specific games. Nonetheless, Netflix appears to be strategically acquiring well-known, commercially successful titles to cater to a wide range of preferences and gaming experiences. Adding the GTA Trilogy, from one of the most iconic gaming franchises, is yet another strategic move for a service that has consistently secured top-tier games in its two years of operation.
