After years of silence, the beloved action-adventure series Darksiders is making a powerful return. THQ Nordic and developer Gunfire Games have officially unveiled Darksiders 4 during the publisher’s 2025 showcase, offering fans a thrilling teaser trailer and exciting details about what’s to come.
All Four Horsemen Ride Together
For the first time in the franchise’s history, all four Horsemen of the Apocalypse — War, Death, Fury, and Strife — are playable in the same mainline title. Players can take on the role of any of the legendary Horsemen, each wielding distinct weapons and unique combat abilities that deliver on the series’ signature high-octane gameplay. Whether you’re riding solo or teaming up with friends, the game offers single-player, split-screen, and online co-op for 2–4 players.
Classic Darksiders Gameplay Returns
Darksiders 4 stays true to its roots with a blend of third-person action, fluid traversal, and puzzle-solving. A Long-Awaited Return
The franchise began in 2010 with the original Darksiders, developed by Vigil Games, and was followed by Darksiders 2 in 2012. Gunfire Games took the reins for Darksiders 3 in 2018, featuring Fury as the lead, and later, Airship Syndicate developed the top-down spinoff Darksiders Genesis in 2019. Since then, the series has been on hiatus while Gunfire focused on hits like Remnant: From the Ashes and its sequel.
With Darksiders 4, Gunfire Games returns to the universe they helped shape, bringing with them years of action game experience and fan anticipation.
