The Golden Couple by Greer Hendricks and Sarah Pekkanen is Propulsive and thrilling. It is a frightening story about a lady who cheated her better half yet trying to save her marriage. And to do so she has persuaded her better half to go to counselling with Avery Chambers, a controversial therapist who has lost her license and so presently working as a consultant. As counselling advances, numerous secrets arise, and Avery being an uncommon therapist, getting more involved than many would. The story had me completely baffled until the end.

During first meeting, Avery can see clearly that Marissa Bishop and Matthew Bishop are not being completely honest with her. So to figure out what and why they are keeping secrets Avery went more than expected. Part counsellor and part investigator, she starts to see Marissa and Matthew, who look as though they have everything, the golden couple to everyone on the outside, may not be perfect or honest. The more Avery tries to find out, the less she is persuaded of their result.

However, while managing her rising number of clients, Avery is also having her very own issues. She is being followed by a corporation for helping one of their representatives in whistle-blowing. They appear to know things about her nobody should. They won’t stop until they get what they need.

The Golden Couple by Greer Hendricks and Sarah Pekkanen is a story where what you think may or may not matter. Everyone is hiding something or the other. Both the writers are experts at slow burn Mystery. They up the game on twists, both jarring and subtle, plotted at uneven places, keeping us off centre in the most ideal manner. The complexities of how the story finally arranges is so tight, very much crafted, and more than just satisfying. I was turning around pages to reread with the new information, then finally a full reread. The main thing better would have been somebody to converse with making this an incredible buddy read or Bookclub pick. I give this my highest recommendation!
