Gearbox Entertainment officially unveiled the much-anticipated Borderlands 4 at gamescom 2024, during the event’s Opening Night Live. The reveal came with a mysterious teaser trailer, leaving fans eagerly awaiting more details about the upcoming installment in the iconic looter shooter franchise.
Teaser Trailer and Release Window Confirmed
The teaser trailer, which was shown during the live event, has confirmed that Borderlands 4 is set to release in 2025. The game will be available on multiple platforms, including PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X/S. Publisher 2K Games has further clarified that the game will launch during parent company Take-Two Interactive’s fiscal year 2026, meaning that the release could occur anytime between April 2025 and the end of 2025.
In the trailer, fans got their first glimpse of an all-new planet, setting the stage for what promises to be another action-packed adventure. The official blurb from 2K describes Borderlands 4 as the fourth mainline title and the seventh overall entry in the franchise.
