A Caller’s Game by J.D. Barker is a non-stop roller coaster ride. It is equally hard to accept what occurs in this absolutely engaging novel could ever be possible. Eventually, it doesn’t make any difference as I liked it a lot. I usually don’t like to be interfered once I reach about the 75% mark of the novel. However, for the first time while reading A Caller’s Game I don’t want to be interfered from the first page. The reason behind it is the action which started to develop directly from the first page and it last till the end.

Jordan Briggs is the host of a famous talk show on radio. Show broadcast from the SiriusXM, Building located in the heart of New York City. She’s reckless, keeps tight control over everything along with her in-the-booth sidekick Billy. She loves her 11 year old daughter Charlotte. On this day, a caller named Bernie demands that she play a game. She should pick what direction she’d like to get around the city – by taxi or Uber.

Down on the street close to Jordan’s building, crime investigator Cole Hundley has been temporarily downgraded to traffic duties. Reason behind this temporary demotion is transgression including the daughter of one of his bosses. Out of nowhere, explosions begin to happen all around. As Cole remains close to a taxi, the driver takes a call asking to talk Cole. The man named Bernie is on the call. He says he has sent a bomb to Jordan’s building and gives Cole a choice to make. Stay and attempt to help the taxi driver, who’s been wired to a bomb, or leave and attempt to find the bomb in the building before it explodes.

Cole winds up taking off toward the building, figuring out how to get inside in the midst of smoke from the blast and police attempting to cordon off the near by streets. Caller Bernie proceeds with his “game,” From her broadcast booth, requesting that Jordan settle on impossible decisions. Decision that propose Bernie might be attempting to set things straight from a tragic incident that Jordan engineered years prior. Whatever unknown reasons, it’s very clear he’s a mechanical wizard. He is way a head of any individual who attempts to stop him – including Cole. A Caller’s Game by J.D. Barker is a fast paced Thriller novel. I highly recommend it to people who like reading thriller story.
