Pratt confirmed that there is a “100% chance” of him reprising his role as Star-Lord in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) and hinted at a potential role in James Gunn’s rebooted DC Universe (DCU).
With James Gunn, the writer-director of the Guardians of the Galaxy films, now deeply involved in projects at DC Studios, speculation has been rife about Pratt’s possible venture into the DCU. Pratt, while promoting his upcoming film, The Garfield Movie, expressed openness to appearing in both superhero realms. He stated, “Well, it probably makes more sense for me to reprise the role of Star-Lord. But anything is on the table, especially with James now involved with DC. Perhaps there’s a fitting opportunity there. Or maybe both. Why not both? Let’s explore both avenues. I’d say it’s a solid 100% chance for both.”

In a 2023 Rolling Stone interview, Pratt expressed openness to the idea if Gunn believes he’s the right fit, stating, “If James believes I’m the right fit, then naturally, I’d have to contemplate it.”
Similarly, Pom Klementieff, known for her role as Mantis in “Guardians of the Galaxy,” has confirmed discussions with Gunn about potential roles in DC’s expanding franchise. While not revealing specifics, Klementieff hinted at a particular character she finds intriguing, stating, “There’s a particular character in mind, but I’m sworn to secrecy. I was acquainted with the character, and I found them incredibly intriguing.”
