Matthew Perry, famous for playing Chandler Bing in “Friends,” passed away unexpectedly at 54. His Autopsy Discloses Ketamine’s Acute Effects as the Cause of his Death. He was found in his swimming pool at home on October 28, not responding to anything. The people who checked on him said there was no sign that someone else was involved in his death. It was an accident.

What the Reports Say

The official report from the Los Angeles County medical examiner says that Perry died because of too much ketamine in his body, a powerful drug. Besides this, they found he had a heart problem and traces of another medicine, buprenorphine, which helps with opioid addiction. Perry had a history of addiction but had been clean for over a year and a half. He was getting special ketamine treatments for depression and anxiety, with his last session about 10 days before he died. People said he was doing well with this treatment.

Ketamine, which has been around since the 1970s, can help with depression and anxiety. But it can also make you feel disconnected and cause hallucinations. It’s often used in parties. The DEA warns that too much can be very dangerous.

The high level of ketamine found in Perry’s blood was surprising because it usually doesn’t stay in the body for long. The medical team couldn’t figure out how he got so much of it in his system so suddenly.

On the morning he died, Perry played pickleball and returned home by 1 p.m. His assistant, who last saw him alive, went out for errands. When they came back, they found Perry and called the police, who declared him dead in the afternoon. The next day, he was taken for an autopsy, which is a detailed examination to find out more about his death.

Perry was very popular as Chandler in “Friends.” He was known for his funny and unique way of acting. The show was a big hit for 10 seasons. Even after the show ended, people loved him.

He openly talked about his addiction struggles in his book “Friends, Lovers and the Big Terrible Thing,” and in interviews. He said addiction is a disease and encouraged people to get help without feeling bad about themselves.

Matthew Perry’s story is a reminder of how sudden and tragic life can be, especially for someone who has battled personal issues in the public eye. His legacy as a beloved TV star and his openness about his struggles will continue to be remembered by his fans and those who admired his work and courage in facing his challenges.
