Ideal Toys released a line of a set of Captain Action Figures on the market. The speciality of this specific figure was that it wasn’t a likeness of any specific hero. Instead, this Captain Action figure came with multiple sets of costumes of various superheroes, so one could dress it up as whoever they wished. This line of toys gained even more traction with the release of the 1966 Batman costume. The set of Batman costumes included many different pieces of equipment relating to Batman, like a Batarang, a bat rope and a radio and was complete with a full Batman bodysuit with the iconic logo. The Ideal Captain Action Batman has become one of the most valuable collectables and can cost around $2,860.
Marx Batman Water Blaster
With Batman’s popularity, the toy ranges surrounding him did not stop only at action figures. Many toy companies were responsible for creating Batman-related gadgets for people to emulate the protector of Gotham.
One of these toys includes Louis Marx’s creation of a Batman-themed Water Blaster, which was a prototype toy. It even comes with a scope so the user can find their target more easily. The price for this one goes as high as $4,210.
Ideal Official Batman Playset
Ideal Toys were responsible for a large number of the Batman and DC superheroes toys that were produced. They did not stop at just action figures of various heroes but even went on to create well-detailed play-sets involving many characters from DC entertainment.
The Official Batman Playset not only included the heroes like Batman, Robin, Wonder Woman and Superman but also included the villains they were fighting against. Batman’s Bat-mobile and other various accessories were also a part of this play-set. Even the other superheroes came with many accessories. This set in mind condition would cost anywhere around $10,000 at least.
Ideal Official Batman and Justice League of America Play-set
The Official Batman Playset was not the only play-set that Ideal Toys released. There was another play-set, consisting of many components and an elaborate setting that was produced by Ideal Toys, called the Ideal Official Batman and Justice League of America Play-set.
The set was loaded with 6 specific superheroes from the DC comics. These heroes were hand-painted with great detail and were also equipped with accessories like the Batarang, a cape, and even some weapons. There were also a number of ambiguous villain figurines, robots, the Bat-mobile, Batcomputer and even the Batcave.
This Ideal Official Batman and Justice League of America Play-set was once sold for the very steep price of $10,755.
Ideal Super Queens
Just a year after the Ideal Captain Action figures were released, Ideal released another line of toys known as the Captain Heroine or Super Queens. These Super Queens followed practically the same logic as Captain Action, where a singular Super Queen could be dressed in the multiple costumes of the DC heroines.
The Super Queens figure came out with four different costumes, namely – Supergirl, Batgirl, Mera and Wonder Woman. Supergirl (Kara Zor-El) is Superman’s cousin and had many adventures with him as well as on her own. Batgirl (Barbara Gordon) is one of the most important members of the Bat-family, she even went on to become the Oracle later. Mera was once the Queen of Atlantis and possesses great power. Wonder Woman (Diana Prince) is an Amazonian warrior and a demigod daughter of the Greek God, Zeus. All these heroines came with their very own costumes and specific accessories, which made them incredibly valuable. A Batgirl figure went up to the price of $18,000.
Original Robin Boy Wonder Figure
Robin is better known as the vigilante superhero Batman’s sidekick. Bruce Wayne took in the young boy, Dick Grayson, after he witnessed the death of his parents. Growing up, Wayne and Grayson were very close and shared a great mentor-mentee relationship. Grayson looked up to both Bruce Wayne and his superhero alias, The Batman. Grayson later took on the identity of Robin to help Batman and be his right hand.
The Original Robin Boy Wonder Figure was released in the 1970s as his character was gaining traction. This action figure gained a ton of popularity amongst people and its value has only increased with time. The figure came with a removal Robin mask that one could take off at any time and was also available in many sizes. Today, it might cost something around $7,000.
Original Superman Action Figure
Superman is one of the most iconic superheroes of all time. He represents strength and has made a place in the people’s hearts for many years now. Clark Kent’s nerdy charismatic personality even makes him a great character outside of his superhero alias.
It only stands to reason that this incredible hero would get his own line of action figures. The Original Superman Action Figure came out a long time ago back in the late 1930s. The figure was entirely carved out of wood and would cost around $2,000 today.
