20th Century Studios has officially announced Predator: Killer of Killers, a brand-new animated film set within the iconic Predator universe. Premiering exclusively on Hulu on June 6, 2025, this unique entry in the franchise offers a fresh approach to the legendary alien hunter’s lore with an anthology format spanning different historical eras.
A Predator Story Told Across Time
Directed by Dan Trachtenberg — who previously revitalized the franchise with the critically acclaimed Prey — Killer of Killers weaves together three standalone stories centered around some of history’s most lethal warriors. The anthology features:
- A Viking raider, guiding her young son on a vengeful, blood-soaked journey.
- A ninja in feudal Japan, locked in a deadly succession conflict with his Samurai brother.
- A World War II pilot, who encounters an extraterrestrial threat while investigating mysterious activity in the skies.
Each of these warriors, despite their fearsome prowess, will come face-to-face with the galaxy’s ultimate predator — turning them from killers into prey.
Creative Talent Behind the Animation
Joining Trachtenberg at the helm is Josh Wassung from the animation powerhouse The Third Floor, serving as co-director. The screenplay is written by Micho Robert Rutare, based on a story developed in collaboration with Trachtenberg. The film is based on characters originally created by Jim Thomas and John Thomas.
Producing the animated feature are John Davis, Dan Trachtenberg, Marc Toberoff, and Ben Rosenblatt, with executive producers including Lawrence Gordon, James E. Thomas, John C. Thomas, and Stefan Grube.

Two Predator Projects in One Year
Unusually, Killer of Killers is not the only Predator project releasing this year. Trachtenberg is also directing Predator: Badlands, a live-action feature slated for a theatrical release on November 7, 2025. That film stars Elle Fanning as Thia, a character who reportedly forms an unlikely alliance with a young Predator. Fanning recently gave fans a sneak peek at the film during CinemaCon in Las Vegas.
A New Direction for the Predator Franchise
With Killer of Killers, 20th Century Studios is boldly expanding the Predator mythos through animation — a first for the franchise. The time-spanning narrative, combined with rich historical backdrops and a fresh anthology structure, promises a thrilling and stylistically diverse experience.
