Demigods, mark your calendars! Disney+ has officially announced that Percy Jackson and the Olympians Season 2 will premiere on December 10, 2025, bringing fans back to Camp Half-Blood for another thrilling chapter packed with gods, monsters, and epic adventures.
San Diego Comic-Con Reveals Teaser and Major Updates
During a packed panel at San Diego Comic-Con’s legendary Hall H, the cast and crew unveiled an exciting teaser trailer for Season 2. The panel featured lead actors Walker Scobell (Percy Jackson), Leah Sava Jeffries (Annabeth Chase), Aryan Simhadri (Grover Underwood), Charlie Bushnell (Luke), Dior Goodjohn (Clarisse La Rue), and Daniel Diemer (Tyson). Executive producers Jonathan E. Steinberg, Dan Shotz, and Craig Silverstein joined them onstage, with Timothy Simons (who plays Tantalus) serving as the moderator.
Fans were treated to their first look at the action-packed season, including dramatic shots of Luke wielding a deadly blade, Clarisse leading the charge from a ship, and Poseidon warning Percy of an oncoming war: “Brace yourself, Perseus.”
The Plot: A Quest Into the Sea of Monsters
Season 2 adapts The Sea of Monsters, the second book in Rick Riordan’s bestselling Percy Jackson series. With the magical borders of Camp Half-Blood failing, Percy must retrieve the Golden Fleece to protect the camp and its demigod residents. This journey leads him into the treacherous Sea of Monsters.
He won’t go alone. Joining him are Annabeth, Clarisse, Grover, and Tyson—Percy’s newly revealed Cyclops half-brother. The stakes are higher than ever as the group faces mythical beasts, deadly traps, and the looming threat of Luke and Kronos, who continue their plan to overthrow Olympus.
Executive producer Craig Silverstein summed up Percy’s struggle:
“Season 2 is about Percy trying to hold all of his life together as it’s breaking and changing. And that’s your typical middle school experience.”
New Cast Members and Returning Faces
Season 2 introduces several key new characters:
- Andra Day joins as Athena, the goddess of wisdom and Annabeth’s mother.
- Tamara Smart will play Thalia Grace, a pivotal demigod daughter of Zeus.
- Timothy Simons appears as the sarcastic and tormented Tantalus, now managing Camp Half-Blood.
Fan-favorite stars are also returning, including:
- Lin-Manuel Miranda as the mischievous god Hermes
- Jason Mantzoukas as Dionysus (Mr. D)
- Courtney B. Vance, who steps into the role of Zeus following the passing of Lance Reddick
Behind-the-Scenes Laughs and Fan Moments
One crowd-pleasing moment came when the teaser hinted at Grover’s iconic wedding dress scene from the books. Although the clip cut before the big reveal, Aryan Simhadri shared hilarious behind-the-scenes details, including a fake proposal between him and Walker Scobell during filming.
These lighter moments were a hit among fans, who were excited to see how the show blends humor and heart with high-stakes mythology.

Season 3 Already on the Horizon
In a surprise video message, Rick Riordan confirmed that Season 3 is already in the works, and production will begin soon. He also revealed the casting of two major fan-favorite characters from The Titan’s Curse:
- Levi Chrisopulos will star as Nico di Angelo, a child of Hades and future key character in the series.
- Olive Abercrombie joins as Bianca di Angelo, Nico’s older sister, in a recurring role.
The addition of the di Angelo siblings signals an even darker and more intense storyline in future episodes.
Bigger, Bolder, and More Mythical Than Ever
Executive producer Dan Shotz described Season 2 as a major scale-up from the first:
“Season two is epic. We’re out at sea, on a 175-foot ironclad ship. There are cruise ships, chariot races, massive monsters—it’s so huge, and we cannot wait for you guys to see it.”
Shotz’s excitement reflects just how ambitious this new chapter is. From mythological mayhem to emotional character arcs, the show aims to deliver on every front.
The Legacy Continues
Created by Rick Riordan and Jonathan E. Steinberg, the series is executive produced by Steinberg, Dan Shotz, Craig Silverstein, and a powerhouse production team including Rebecca Riordan, Ellen Goldsmith-Vein, Bert Salke, Jeremy Bell, D.J. Goldberg, and more.
The first season of Percy Jackson and the Olympians is available to stream now on Disney+, offering new fans a chance to catch up before the second season launches this December.
