It’s a wonderful book where the author gives a very serious and important message in the most satirical and entertaining way. Where the author talks about equality, freedom and life in general through a story of farm animals. In the story a group of farm animals rebel against a farmer, they take a stand for their rights, freedom, equality and happiness. The book is still relevant even in the current times. 

A Christmas Carol

A Christmas Carol was written by Dickens wrote in response to “British social stations” towards poverty, specifically child poverty, and wished to use the tale as a means to put forward his arguments against it. The story was first published on 19 December 1843 (178 years ago). He was impacted by the experience he gained during his youth and by the Christmas tales of other authors, including Washington Irving and Douglas Jerrold.

Charlie and the chocolate factory

The story was written by British author Roald Dahl. It was first published in U.S on 17 January 1964. It is believed that the plot of the book was largely inspired by the author’s visit to a chocolate factory during his schooldays at Repton School in Derbyshire. The book got it’s success and became most popular works in children’s literature. The story revolves around Charlie Bucket who is 11 years old.

The Great Gatsby

Next on our list is F. scott Fitzgerald’s 180 page classic book ‘The Great Gatsby’. It is considered one of the greatest classics of 20th century Literature. The novel revolves around Jay Gatsby, a super rich man and his love. Many believe Jay became the sign of American’s aspiration and symbol of party & drinks back then. Jay’s character was a dreamer who dreamt of dreams (things that almost seems impossible) and even had the courage to stand for it.

Night

Night is a nonfiction biographical novel by Elie Wiesel. ‘Night’ showcases the horrors of Holocaust and Elie’s personal experiences in several concentration camps. As Elie Wiesel and his family were taken away from their home and were shifted to concentration camps. This 115 page memoir is full of tragic events and horrors which Elie had to face. The book also gives an idea about conditions of victims of concentration camps during those days.

Sula

Sula is a 1973 classic novel written by Toni Morrison. The novel talks about two black women Sula and Nel. One of them stays at her place (where she was born) and becomes a pillar of the black community while the other leaves the place and moves ahead in life. The story is hard hitting and intense where the two strong ladies face each other. The book also gives insights about black people’s life in America (especially black women).

Mrs Dalloway

Mrs Dalloway is arguably Virginia Woolf’s greatest novel. The 1925 novel showcases a day in a woman’s life. It showcases a day in the life of ‘Clarissa Dalloway’ who’s an upper-class Lady from London and is married to a member of Parliament. This novel addresses the nature of time in personal experience through several interconnected Stories. This Virginia Woolf’s novel is also known for its beautiful writing and depiction of London.

Matilda

Matilda is a young adult genre book by Roald Dahl. The 240 page book is illustrated by Quentin Blake. The book was published in 1988. The novel revolves around a girl named Matilda who’s five and a half years old. But is able to solve complicated multiplication problems with ease. However, things are not so smooth for the little girl as she has two mean and self centred parents.

Siddhartha

This novel is written by the German-Swiss poet, painter and novelist ‘Hermann Hesse’. This 1922 classic novel is about Siddhartha who leaves his house in order to gain spiritual enlightenment. In the novel the author talks about life, wisdom, enlightenment through his story. And also focuses on the full circle of life. The book was considered an eye opener for the West. This novel was known for its take on philosophy and spirituality. 

The Tale of Peter Rabbit

‘The Tale of Peter Rabbit’ is a 1901 book written and illustrated by Beatrix Potter. The 72 page book is a classic children’s fantasy book. This book follows the story of a naughty Rabbit ‘Peter’. The rabbit always finds itself in trouble because of its mischievousness. Potter’s story is accompanied by beautiful illustrations and timeless verses that are still relevant & celebrated in the genre.

The Stranger

It’s a novel by the French author Albert Camus. This 159 page novel was published in 1942. The novel is considered a French Literature Classic. However, the classic has been translated into English 4 times. The story in the novel is of an ordinary man unwittingly drawn into a senseless murder on an Algerian beach.

Lord of the Flies

This 1954 novel is written by William Golding. The story is about a group of English Boys who are on an uncharted island after a plane crash. It’s a celebration for them at first because there is no adult supervision. The boys feel that they can live on their own terms and do anything they want. However, after a point some of the boys start getting horrors about an imaginary monster. At the night the terror begins its reign. The boys thrill of adventure vanishes and they start hoping to be rescued.

Charlie meet Howard Bowditch, when Mr. Bowditch died he left him with lots of gold and a house from which strange sounds use to emerge, as it seemed like some creature was trying to escape.

Ghost Eaters is one of the most awaited horror novels of writer, ‘Clay McLeod Chapman’. The story focuses on Erin, a college student who’s in love with Silas. Silas is a reckless and charismatic guy. Who is looking to achieve something high in his life and discovers a drug which allows him to see the dead. But eventually he dies because of overdose, and Erin discovered about the drug. She never believed in the drug but to ease her pain and guilt she took the help of the drug. But after taking the drug her life changed forever. Even after getting back to normal see unable to get over it and sees ghost all around her. Will she be able to come over her nightmare?

The horror suspense novel is written by ‘Iain Reid’, which focuses on the primary character ‘Penny’. Penny is an artist who has been living in the same apartment for decades. It had become tough for her to take care of herself in her aging state, as her long-time partner had died years ago. Because of her ageing state some arrangements were made for her stay in a unique long term care residence. She settles in there with ease and even started painting again. However, with time she started to lose control over the passage of time, places and even people around her. Are these just an effect of her old age or is it something more mysterious?

The Butcher is an intense horror novel written by ‘Laura Kat Young’, where 18-year-old girl, ‘Lady Mae’ who is now ready to take over her mother’s job of a butcher. Lady Mae’s mother gets murdered in her own living room when she refuses to butcher a child. Within 24 hours Lady Mae has to start her new journey as a butcher. But there’s a plot twist, when she comes across her mother’s murderer. Will she take vengeance or run away from her past?

Leech

Its a Science Fiction Horror novel written by ‘Hiron Ennes’. The book starts with the mysterious death of a doctor at an isolated Chateau. The institute sent a replacement doctor who’s having a Mystery to solve. He finds that something is ‘off’ about the place. If you are looking for a different, complicated and mysterious read, do give this book a read.

House of Hunger

House of Hunger is a Horror novel written by ‘Alexis Henderson’. The novel talks about a young women, ‘Marion Shaw’ who has lived a life in poverty and has been raised in  the slums. She wants to escape the hardships of city life but finds no way out. Lately she discovers an ad in a newspaper which says, “WANTED – Bloodmaid of exceptional taste. Must a keen proclivity for life’s finer pleasure. Girls of weak will need not apply.” Although she had heard about the far North norms where she need to travel in the hope of changing her destiny. Eventually Marion becomes the newest bloodmaid at The House of Hunger. Soon she realises about her fellow bloodmaids who were missing. This makes her come to terms with the rules and reality of The House of Hunger. She understands the need to learn about the rules of the place before she goes missing.

Gallows Hill

Gallows Hill Winery has been owned by the Hull’s family for generations. They are working, living and growing famous grapes on the beautiful ground. However one night everything is changed when Mr. Hull and Mrs. Hull when for sleep at night and were found dead in the morning. Margor (Daughter of Mr and Mrs Hull) became the owner of the business, but wants nothing to do with it. Locals talk about rumours and say “the place is cursed”. It is believed that “winery” is built on a field where many convicts were hanged once. Today after many years of staying away, Margot is now alone in the sprawling, dilapidated building. She began to think that the curse of “house that never rests” is real and she is the next victim.

The ‘Eric LaRocca’ written horror novel is a collection of short stories. It contains three beautifully written dark and disturbing horror stories. The first story is about two lonely young women in an internet chat room in the early 2000’s and a darkness of their horrific desires that threats them forever and transforms their life.

In the second story writer talks about a couple who have isolated themselves on a remote island to recover from their teenage son’s death. Things take a turn when a stranger knocks on their door during a storm.

In the third story a man when discovers a strange object in his neighbour’s backyard and tries to confront him which draws him into more dangerous things.

Full Immersion 

Full Immersion is ‘Gemma Amor’s’ Novel, where the story begins with one misty morning when Magpie finds her own dead body in Bristol, which forces her to find the reality behind her unnatural death. On her journey of finding the truth she will discovers “the truth about her past, her potential and her future. Her journey will take her through technological innovations, multiple realities, experimental treatments and uncooked memories in a race against time and sanity. She will make a new companion who is both strange and familiar.

It Looks Like Us

It is a Horror thriller by ‘Alison Ames’. In this thriller ‘Riley’ goes to Antarctica for a research trip in her winter break along with five other students. The main aim of the group is to prove that plastic pollution has reached all the way to Antarctica.  After a point Riley notices that the leader of their group ‘Greta’ is behaving in a strange manner and also snaps & tries to kill Riley.  She eventually realises that the camp has been infiltrated by something.

Halfway for free is a short story leaves you with so much to consider. Set in (2060) 40 years of future . It nearly brings humankind round trip. From presume archaic way of Thinking and living to assumed freedom…or is it?

Is life truly better without kids, without the agony, duty, and expanded carbon impression that are consequences of bringing a new life into the world? Has conception prevention freed women, giving them decision over their bodies? Or on the other hand has it rather become a method of controlling them?

It’s 2060 and the world has up to 9 million people however with extremist changes, it’s going down to 6 million, although few think that a better objective would be 3 million people. Despite the fact that it’s not illegal to have a kid, doing so is made practically unimaginable because of housing, work, medical care and social acknowledgement being eliminated from the people who may do so. Youngsters just happen to tycoons, who can stand to live without government incentives and support, or to revolutionary individuals who leave “typical” society, to live away from all the “great” things the government provides, freely accommodating themselves and their similarly invested network.

There are a lot of things in this little story and I’d love for it to turn into a full length novel, so we could follow Miriam and her companion, as they explore an alternative that the vast majority could never consider. Poor Miriam gets an earful from her own IA gadget, when she looks for data about pregnancy and childbirth. At the point when it’s totally disgorged the manner in which the IA puts it, I’m shocked anybody would willfully get pregnant.

Short structure fiction isn’t something I consider generally. It takes a genuine ability to rapidly bring the reader into a story, get you to care without a long development and afterward immediately hit you with a significant turn toward the end. These writers, in this brilliantly imaginative book, manages to aptly tingle the spine each time. Here’s a summery of few story:

• In 12:01 AM, Alan Jacobson tells the heart-beating story of a FBI profiler attempting to get data from a serial killer minutes before his execution as it seems a copycat or prepared accomplice is proceeding with his work.

• Cell Phone Intolerant by Kevin O’Brien is about a man who is tired of impolite individuals who are continually on their phones. We would all be able to relate. but Ed takes his indignation too far.

• All Aboard by Hank Phillippi Ryan was One of my favourites. With shades of Strangers on a Train, this extraordinary story is about a PR leader on a sleeper train who catches from the following room a plot against a lady. At the point when the train stops, Cady embeds herself into the circumstance.

• Gone Forever by Joseph Badal is a tragic story of a mass murdering. Given the topic, this was my least choice.

• The creepy in Midnight in the Garden of Death by Heather Graham is about a few youngsters having a sleepover in a graveyard.

• The Sixth Decoy by Paul Kemprecos  featured  series character Aristotle Socarides. A private investigator takes a case and works for a man of questionable character.
