Mack’s breakout role came in 2018, when she portrayed Addy for five episodes in The Walking Dead’s ninth season. Her performance left a lasting impression on fans of the post-apocalyptic drama. She later appeared in shows like Chicago Med (as Penelope Jacobs in Season 8) and 9-1-1 on FOX. She continued to take on challenging and meaningful roles, including a part in the 2024 romantic comedy Mr. Manhattan opposite Harry Shum Jr., and the yet-to-be-released film Universal, starring alongside Joe Thomas and Rosa Robson.
A Brave Battle with Cancer
In 2024, Kelley was diagnosed with diffuse midline glioma, a rare and aggressive form of brain cancer that affects central structures like the brainstem and spinal cord. Following a biopsy on her spinal cord, she lost the ability to walk without assistance and used a walker and wheelchair during her recovery. Despite this life-changing setback, she remained hopeful and continued to share her progress with fans on social media.
One of her most inspiring posts came in March 2025, when she celebrated climbing stairs for the first time in months. “I’ve been up and down these stairs now 2x in the past few days,” she wrote on Instagram. “It’s a big deal for me. (Life has also had its ups and downs lately am I right lol).” Her boyfriend Logan Lanier stood by her side throughout, and Kelley often expressed gratitude for the love and support she received.
Loved by Many, Remembered Forever
Kelley’s death was first announced on August 5 through an emotional post on her Instagram, written by her sister Kathryn. “Such a bright, fervent light has transitioned to the beyond,” the post read. “She would want you all to know how much she loves you.”
Fellow Walking Dead star Alanna Masterson paid tribute to her in a touching post, writing, “What an incredible human.
