I was so anxious to read Concrete Rose, as I liked The Hate you Give so much and Maverick is an impressive character in it. Continually showing his children to be responsible and how to carry on around people. I was captivated to read his backstory and while there are sixteen-years we actually don’t know about probably as this book closes before Starr is born. It was entrancing to see Mav to be a young fellow who needed to grow up rapidly and what formed his life.

The characters of Concrete Rose are amazing. It was amusing to see a few characters from the first book showing up in their more youthful years. I do wonder whether there will be an in the middle of book, particularly as we never get to witness any real grievance among Mav and King like in The Hate you Give. If I am recalling appropriately (It has been a couple of years since I read the first book), Mav does a spell in jail, however this would have been in the missing years.

Angie Thomas has a particular talent with words. She pulls you into the story and you can feel, hear, and be an integral part of each story. I absolutely turned out to be emotionally associated with the plot and angry when Mav did and upset when he did as well. The setting is not difficult to picture as well and I could not imagine anything better than to see them adapt this book also.

Concrete Rose is a novel that you must read if you read and like the first one.

There are so many things about the story of “Cast in Firelight” that I liked. The vivid world, the characters, the connections, the romantic tale, the cool wizardry, the secret behind the missing firelight. There is a lot to adore in this well created and action packed story.

Something that I love to find in literature is the portrayal of solid family associations. Too regularly in literature. In Cast in Firelight, the parents and Adraa’s sister plays a significant part in the story. I love the amazing way this additional to the plot and character advancement, particularly in later parts of the story. The more Adraa and Jatin trust their family, and the more they find out about the missing firelight. The more they understand how significant, involved, and selfless their family are.

Adraa is a fabulous protagonist! Fierce, independent, and selfless, Adraa is a fighter. She fights for what she has faith in, she fights to define her part in the public eye, and she fights for the privileges of others. I love that she is wild, faithful, and imaginative. She is dynamic and entrancing, as is Jatin.

Sent to school at a youthful age, Jatin feels like an outsider in his family. He yearns for a more grounded association with his father however does not have the foggiest idea how and fears to attain it. He and Adraa are both looking for direction and reason all through the story. They go though mind boggling developments as they battle to define themselves as leaders, heirs, lovers, and as an individual. Adraa and Jatin battle with their feelings as they strive to tackle the issues of their kingdom.

The rich mythology and clear world-building are vivid and one of a kind in Cast in Firelight. Inspired by Indian culture, the world is portrayed well to such an extent. That I felt like I was in the groups at the fighting rings, and walking through the roads of Adraa’s kingdom. I could feel the warmth of the volcano as Adraa and Jatin attempted to stop it. I liked the Dana Swift‘s writing, and it pulled me in from the first few lines. Where we are acquainted with a fierce youthful protagonist and an extraordinary universe of magic.

The messages about family, finding love, trusting others, and benevolence as well as the vivid characters, unique world-building, and action filled plot make “Cast in Firelight” a vivid and intriguing read. I can hardly wait to read the following book in the duology and see what different adventure await Adraa and Jatin.

So what is their punishment? The Agon. A chase, essentially.. that happens at regular intervals.. at the point when the nine rebellious gods are compelled to walk the earth as humans while the legendary Houses attempt to destroy them, kill them, and take their power. For reasons unknown, whomever kills the past god.. turns into the upgraded one. At least, for seven years until the following Agon when they need to join the chase as prey.

FIRE was the awesome ally to the greatly liked and superbly written GRACELING, book one in the Graceling Realm Series. I really liked Graceling. I came to know about this series while searching for something new. 4th novel of this series is expected to be released on 19th January 2021. So I chose to read the previous 3 Novels by that time. Also, GRACELING sounded much the same as the book I was searching for. Furthermore, it was EPICALLY brilliant from multiple points of view.

Set in an alternate realm then GRACELING, and kinda in an alternate world, yet not, (I realize you need to read it to understand what I’m talking about) FIRE immediately set some major changes in motion with it’s political interest and quick moving toward war. With an amazingly skilled brain reading main character, that can spellbind and stupefy men with only one look, FIRE was a much-needed refresher that didn’t disappoint.

The primary character Fire had an unpredictability about her that was captivating and distinctive than my ordinary characters. I enjoyed the most of her magnificence and womanly capacity to entrance men and control their brains. However, with just a limited capacity to work with, Fire needed to utilize methodology and perseverance to finish her missions. Yet, consumed by blame over her insidious dad’s misuses of his brain reading power, Fire harped on the agony and endure he inflicted on individuals. She was a solid character, and was honored to have real individuals who thought often about her paying little heed to the beast inside.

The world-building was fabulous! The Dells is in an alternate world then Graceling however.
