The Hunger Games Trilogy by Suzanne Collins
The Hunger Games Trilogy by Suzanne Collins takes place in an unidentified future period after the destruction of North America, and in the ruins is the nation known as Panem. Panem has a rich Capitol and 12 surrounding, poorer districts. As punishment for a previous rebellion of districts against the Capitol, every year one boy and one girl between the ages of 12 and 18 from each district are forced to participate in The Hunger Games. The games are a televised event where the participants, or ‘tributes’ as they are called, must fight to the death in a large outdoor arena until only one survives. The trilogy follows the story of 16-year-old Katniss Everdeen, a girl from District 12 who volunteers for the Games in place of her younger sister, Prim. This one of the best young adult book series.

Catching Fire is the second book of The Hunger Games series. The book was published in September, 2009. Katniss Everdeen won the annual Hunger Games against all odds with her fellow district tribute Peeta Mellark. However, they won by defying the Capitol and their brutal rules. After winning the game Katniss and Peeta should be happy as they have won for themselves and their families a life of safety and prosperity. However, there are rumors of rebellion, and to their dismay Katniss and Peeta, are the faces of that rebellion. The Capitol is angry about this and wants revenge.
Mockingjay is the third book in the series of Hunger Games, which was published in August, 2010. The book is about Katniss Everdeen’s, who has survived the Hunger games twice and that makes her a target of the Capitol and President Snow. Katniss was rescued from the arena in the harsh and haunting Quarter Quell, and she has been part of the revolution without knowing it. The district 13 has come out of the shadows and is now plotting to overthrow the Capitol. The success of the rebellion makes Katniss accept responsibility for countless lives, change the future of Panem and become pawn of rebellion.
The Maze Runner Trilogy by James Dashner
The Maze Runner by James Dashner has an adrenaline-filled storyline. It is the New York Times bestselling trilogy. The trilogy is set in a post-apocalyptic reality, where violence, disease and lies threaten to destroy the lives of the young Gladers. However, the truth of the maze is more dangerous than anyone could ever imagine. This is another, one of the best young adult novel series. The book follows 16-year-old Thomas, when he wakes up in Glade, he remembers nothing not his age, not how he ended up in the Glade except his name. The Maze Runner was published in 2009. The story follows Thomas, when he wakes up in the lift in Glade, the only thing he can remember is his name. The Scorch Trials
The Scorch Trials is the second book of the The Maze Runner trilogy. The book was published in 2010. In second book, Thomas thought that escape from the Maze would mean freedom for him and the Gladers. But WICKED isn’t done yet. There is Phase Two: The Scorch. The Gladers must cross the Scorch, which is the most burned-out section of the world, and they have to arrive at a safe haven in two weeks. Nix is a 16-year-old daughter of a time traveler. She has traveled everywhere. However, when her father starts to take liberties with the hands of time, she soon finds herself and her world in grave danger. The books have wit, adventure, multicultural characters, and romance. This duology is also considered to be one of the best young adult book series.

Divergent Trilogy by Veronica Roth is set in post-apocalyptic Chicago. The trilogy follows Tris Prior. In the Divergent trilogy the seemingly “perfect” society, fits all the citizens into one of five factions — Abnegation, Candor, Erudite, Amity, or Dauntless. However, Tris does not fit so neatly in to five factions and so she is forced to make a choice that sets her life and her society on a completely different path. This Trilogy is a dystopian story of choices, consequences, unexpected romance, and a flawed “perfect” society.
Divergent is the first book of the series. This book was published in April, 2011. The book follows Beatrice Prior. Her society is divided into five factions—Candor (the honest), Abnegation (the selfless), Dauntless (the brave), Amity (the peaceful), and Erudite (the intelligent). Beatrice has to choose between staying with her Abnegation family and transferring factions. Her choice shocks her community and herself. She renames herself Tris and struggles alongside her fellow as they have to live out the choice they have made. Insurgent is the second book of the Divergent series. The book was published in May, 2012.
